ANIMA, THE WORLD SOUL (Satis Shroff) My friend Thomas Rees, a wooden sculptor, has taken up a new theme to make a series for a theme path in the Kappler Valley: Humans, Time and Earth in the environs of Freiburg-Kappel as well as the biosphere area of the Black Forest. It’s a project of Freiburg city dealing with its people, their stories, culture, Nature and environment. The above mentioned are the themes of the sculpture series, One of them is ‘Anima mundi,’ which is depicted below.   Anima means breath, wind, respiration, soul, mind, a being endowed with a soul and life. Mundi means the world. You find the concert of world-soul in different religions and nature philosophical currents. The soul is shown as the principle of life and movement of the individual human being, and is related to the entire cosmos.
