CHIRPS AND TWEETS (Satis Shroff)

CHIRPS AND TWEETS (Satis Shroff)

The Haubemeise comes
Looks around in my garden,
Picks a few corns in the bird-house
And flutters away to safety.

Scared of bigger birds,
With sharp beaks
That bite.

A finch tweets on a twig,
Swooped by a pair of talons,
The end of chirps in freedom.

PARIS: WHERE THE INNOCENT DIE (Satis Shroff)

France versus Germany play 2:0,
Explosions outside the stadion,
Allah-ho-Akbar rings in the air

129 innocent people slaughtered
By bullets from Kalashnikovs,
In the City of Love on  11/13.

Condolence and prayers
For the Parisians,
Killed in a concert
And elsewhere.

A dark day for Paris,
Where people enjoy life;
Vive la difference,
Marred by terrorists.

Our prayers are for the slain,
In the world city Paris,
Where 129 people were killed
In the name of IS.
