Menstruation: Directing Awareness Towards Women's Rights and Gendering? (Satis Shroff)

Savvy Menses to direct Awareness of Women's Rights and Gendering?

It's physiological, not aesthetic but good for the cause, especially in India and Nepal if you're mentruating you are regarded as ritually unclean and are requested to keep off from the kitchen, not to touch any members of the family, which is a silly thing.

It takes ages to change the mind setup of people. One can only hope that the mores will change with not only the passage of time but through education. In Nepal we have the Living Goddess, who is allowed to remain a Goddess, live in the Kumari Palace but she's obliged to leave the Kumaribahal as soon as she bleeds, either through an injury or when she has her period.

The reason? A Goddess does not bleed. The King of Nepal was regarded as the reincarnation of Vishnu, but he and other members of the royal family were massacred in the Narayanhiti Palace. Vishnu was vulnerable, a mortal, like you and I. Education about the physiological processes in the anatomy of a human being would help,eh? Perhaps textbooks will have to be rewritten in many countries so that a change can occur in the minds of those who read 'em.

(Pic below shows that women-power can change opinions). Is it the beginning of an anti-tampon campaign to attain better rights for women? Well, why not?
