1. Das Ritual Eine betagte Dame sitzt auf dem Boden und spielt ein Tamborin. Die anderen sitzen im Kreis. Plötzlich legt sie das Tamborin beiseite, Steht auf und verläßt den Raum. Sie lebt in einem Altersheim. Sie öffnet ihre Zimmertür, Schaut das Van Gogh Bild an Und fragt sich: ‘Hängt das Bild gerade oder schief? Habe ich das Licht ausgemacht? Sie bedient den Lichtschalter viermal. Sie geht ins Badezimmer: Tropft der Hahn? Dreht den Hahn auf und zu. Habe ich die Tür geschlossen? Sie macht die Tür auf und zu. O, habe ich die Kochplatten ausgemacht? Oder glühen sie? Ich habe solche Angst. Wo ist das Bügeleisen? Habe ich vergessen, den Stecker heraus zu ziehen? O Jemine! So eine Schande. TOGETHERNESS-TO-GO (Satis Shroff) Satis Shroff and others poets at a poetry reading in Freiburg-Kappel Togetherness-to-go (Satis Shroff) I live in a world of fleeting encounters, And togetherness-to-go. I observe such meetings Through my own way of seeing things And interpreting them. What are the stories behind each person? To me it's the moment that counts. With a camera I catch fleeting moments But with my eyes the small details. The eye contact between people, In moments of vulnerability, When someone has received a terminal diagnosis, Or a beloved person has left this world. When tears roll down the cheeks, Or moments of bliss and happiness Between two people who've been long separated. Anyone who fled the barbed-wire republic Was shot by snipers or automatic guns. The common bonds, language, history Were erased overnight. Germans became split into: them and us. A folk was divided into the haves in the West And have nots in the East. Berlin became an island, In the middle of the Soviet occupied zone. Families were separated. On August 13, 1961 the Soviets and East Germans Built an in-depth fortification: the Wall. * * * In Berlin Kudamm with Scandinavian friends After the Wall fell thousands of East and West Germans Met and higged each other at last.
